Richard D. Hart, Ll.B. (Canada)
Richard D. Hart, Ll.B., is a founding Director of ProActive ReSolutions Inc. where he heads the Prevent Stream that focuses on building respectful workplaces and preventing workplace violence.
Mr. Hart has over 20 years experience in civil litigation, adjudication, arbitration, and medication related to complex family, commercial, and corporate issues. His work currently focuses exclusively on helping organizations create respectful workplaces and prevent workplace violence through training and incident management. He is passionate about working with groups embroiled in intense conflict, and has extensive experience in dealing with harassment, bullying, and threats of violence.
Mr. Hart has a degree in law and a background in international relations from the University of British Columbia. He is a civil mediator listed with the Mediation Roster Society of British Columbia, a member of various professional organizations including the Law Society of BC, the ADR Institute of Canada, the BC Arbitration and Mediation Institute, and the Canadian Association of Threat Assessment Professionals, and holds various designations, including that of Chartered Arbitrator.
Mr. Hart frequently presents internationally on ProActive’s evidence-based approaches to preventing problematic behaviours, restoring cooperation among people experiencing difficult workplace dynamics, and assessing and managing risk for violence in workplace contexts.
