Dr. Werner Tschan (Switzerland)
Dr. Werner Tschan MD is a practising psychiatrist in Basel, Switzerland. He holds three academic degrees: MD, Master in Applied Ethics, and a Certificate in the treatment of sexual offenders. He is the author of the German standard book on preventing sexual violence in institutions (Basel, Karger 2005, 2nd ed.).
He has dedicated his professional career to violence prevention. He has written several contributions and lectures worldwide on this subject. His publications are available in English, German, French and Japanese. He participated in the German Round Table on Prevention of Sexual Abuse.
Furthermore he is a member of the advisory board of the advocate-web and serves as a scientific counsellor to the Linda foundation in Switzerland. As a practitioner he provides solutions based on first hand experiences derived from the treatment of numerous affected survivors and their relatives, of offender-professionals and from consultations in various institutions.
