Kelly A. Watt, PhD (Canada)

  

KellyWattKelly A. Watt, PhD, is as Threat Assessment Specialist at ProActive ReSolutions Inc. and is a member of the Mental Health, Law, and Policy Institute at Simon Fraser University in Canada.

Dr. Watt’s work focuses on conducting assessments, providing training, and developing strategies for workplaces related to preventing, assessing and managing risk of workplace violence, with a particular emphasis on health care settings and post secondary institutions.

Dr. Watt has authored or co-authored scientific journal articles, book chapters, research reports and conference presentations concerning violence risk assessment and management, domestic violence related homicides, and coordinated community responses. She has also co-authored structured professional judgment guidelines for violence risk assessment and victim safety planning and has assisted in the development of a violence screening instrument for health care settings.

Dr. Watt has served on the program committee for the International Association of Mental Health, is the former editorial assistant for the International Journal of Forensic Mental Health, and is the current editorial assistant for Intelligence, a newsletter for the Canadian, American and European Threat Assessment Associations Professionals.

Dr. Watt has conducted numerous workshops on violence risk assessment and management and victim safety planning for professionals working in criminal justice, security, health care, social service, education, and human resources settings in North America, Australia, and Europe.
