New Perspectives on Life
Artists have the potential to overcome the isolation and stigma related to mental illness by using their artistic productivity and aiming at representing fundamental questions of our existence. The emphasis of the artworks exhibited will be on the emotional intensity of form and content to connect to the congress theme of aggression. They symbolize the vast possibilities of opening our eyes to new modes of perception in order to overcome barriers between those considered ill and those considered more or less healthy.
The exhibition focuses on psychiatric art in exemplary artworks from various countries, including artists represented in the official art world as well as those working in psychiatric hospitals or even in hidden isolation.
